Just back after a two hour drive in the Typ 64.
Around 45 minutes driving on gravel roads, love that and I really understand how fun it must have been for Otto Mathe driving all these rallyes.
The typ 64 is easy to control, the long 2400 mm wheelbase makes it stable when it starts to slide on the gravel.
Lots of driving this summer with our classic cars, we have been away 29 nights on holiday and different meetings.
We have driven just over 8000 kms with the Typ 64, VW Oval 1957 and the 356A this summer.
Love the autumn, air is fresh, lovely colors in the nature and the garage season is just coming up!😎
VW60K10/Porsche Typ64/Berlin - Rome wagen - 38/43 Mathé recreation Some of you have asked for more details on this Typ 64 replica built. Here are some more info and pictures from the now 8 years long built since we decided to go ahead. It is built in aluminum as the original, three of these cars was built by Reutter 1939-40 and only one of them still exists today. The three cars were intended for a race between Berlin and Rome. The race was cancelled due to WWII. Pictures shows some stages of the built, models made for testing and the wood buck.
