Lovely mild weather, sounds good for a trip in the old 356A from 1958.😎 Also this time I did drive mainly on gravel roads, so nice and not so dusty as they are during the summer time. These cars runs very nicely on gravel with its light weight and narrow tires. The old VW Beetle wreck has been in the woods for decades, it was used at an abandoned sawmill, just 1 kms from our farm.😎

Otto Mathe from Austria owned his Porsche Typ 64 for more than 40 years. Here is a little tribute to him with some old pictures from races and his shop. He bought the Typ 64 directly from Ferry Porsche in Gmund 1949. Mathe took part in several rallys in the early 1950´s with this car. He also had three Porsche 356 Gmund, one of them very breifly. Last picture is our recreation of the Mathe car, finished late last year and now 4000 kms on the clock. Read more about it on my personal FB page or the new blog: https://rekordwagen.blogspot.com/

Third recreation drive this week in the Typ 64. Nearly 4000 kilometers now in this car since finished. Very nice and mild autumn so far. Todays drive was also mainly on gravel roads, one stretch was newly sufaced and very loose on top, great fun.😎 Here are some pics from today and also a fantastic pic from the early 1940´s. Early KDF Beetles.....and look at the end of the right row...........😉 ------------------------------------------------ Tredje rekreationsresan den här veckan i Typ 64.

Nice weather and hopefully many more driving days ahead. Took another local trip in great autumn colors, also today mainly on gravel roads, less dusty this time of the year.😎 Did meet two plummers in a company car on this lonely gravel road, both had very open mouths when I passed them..........😆 Many reactions with his car, most common are open mouth and pointing/shouting. Car is running well, thinking of making it a bit softer in the front, its pretty hard, car is 200 kg lighter than a Beetle and you can feel that in less spring action. The tail heavy rear end feels just fine.

Just back after a two hour drive in the Typ 64. Around 45 minutes driving on gravel roads, love that and I really understand how fun it must have been for Otto Mathe driving all these rallyes. The typ 64 is easy to control, the long 2400 mm wheelbase makes it stable when it starts to slide on the gravel. Lots of driving this summer with our classic cars, we have been away 29 nights on holiday and different meetings. We have driven just over 8000 kms with the Typ 64, VW Oval 1957 and the 356A this summer. Love the autumn, air is fresh, lovely colors in the nature and the garage season is just coming up!😎

Here are some more pics from our recent day trips on our holiday in Norway. Mentioned many times........scenery is just breathtaking, hundreds of mountains in our surrounding. Today it was a motorcycle meeting at the Radisson Hotel, last Saturday it was a Lamborghini meeting, lots of activities here, but not so many classic cars around. Very popular with motorcycles on these windings roads. We have driven about 2000 kms so far with the old Oval 1957 Beetle on this years holiday.😎 Swedish greetings from Norway.😘

Very nice picture of the Typ 64 from the Autoseum Oldtimer Race last weekend. We drove the Typ 64 to the race, round trip of 528 kms. Car was nice to drive on the track, stable with slight oversteer, that is what I like and prefer. Total milage since the car was finished November last year is now almost 4000 kms.😉 https://www.facebook.com/Jorgen.Andersson4

This is the sum up of the Halmstad Sports Car Event that I posted on several VW/Porsche pages. --------------------------------- We did show our Typ 64 car to the public for the first time this Saturday on the Halmstad Sports Car Event. This show is located in the southwest of Sweden, 20 meters from the Atlantic ocean. It was a fantastic response to the VW/Porsche oldspeed car and many, many of the 8000 visitors had great knowledge in the early VW/Porsche history, many of them was well into the Typ 64 scene. Full capacity with 350 sports cars from the 1930´s up to modern ones, great spectrum. We had visitors asking questions for 7 hours without stop, on Sunday we had to recover our voices after all the talk.😎 We had made an info sign with basic info and pics from the Typ 64 history, very much appreciated. Many fantastic cars on the show, like this modern Koenigsegg with 1500hp and 345mm wide tires, our Typ 64 only have 40hp and 125mm wide tires................3x Gullwing Mercedes and

Update: June 24, 2022 Milage: 2518 kms since the car was finished. Not so much driving in the Typ 64/VW60K10 lately, other projects have needed focus. Today we took a local trip and passed 2500 kms since the car was finished. Car runs well and no real issues, will look into improving the ventilation slightly, 29 degrees here today....😎 Still have some red wool tufts on the car after testing aerodynamics the old fashion way. Today we celebrate Midsummer here in Sweden, time to park before the mayhem begins..............😘 -------------------------------------------------------------------- For more info and earlier posts: https://www.facebook.com/Jorgen.Andersson4 ------------------------------------------------------------------- VW60K10 - Porsche Typ 64 - Berlin-Rome Rekordwagen - 38/43 Otto Mathé recreation.
